Coaching With Clarity - Bridging the Gap

MBTI at Coaching With Clarity:

What is MBTI?

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is your first step towards Personal Insight!

The purpose of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality inventory is to make the theory of psychological types described by Carl Jung (1921-1971) understandable and useful in people’s lives.  The essence of the theory is that much seemingly random variation in people’s behavior is actually quite orderly and consistent, being due to basic differences in the way individuals prefer to use their PERCEPTION and JUDGMENT.

PERCEPTION involves all the ways of becoming aware of things, people, happening or ideas.  In other words, “how we prefer to take in information”.

JUDGMENT involves all the ways of coming to conclusions about what has been perceived.  In other words, “how we make decisions”.
If people differ in what they perceive and how they reach conclusions, then it is only reasonable for them to differ in the interests, reactions, values, motivations and skills.

Remember:  All psychological assessments are designed to “indicate” your preferences.  They do not determine your type with 100% accuracy.  Only you can determine your “best fit” type.  This is simply a tool to begin your process of self-discovery.

The implementation of Jung’s theory by Isabel Briggs Myers and Katharine Briggs has endured for more than 50 years.  Today the MBTI is the most widely used personality instrument in the world – 2 million administrations are given each year.
Every day, organizations use the MBTI to establish a common language, paving the way for successful training and coaching applications.  Detailed, personalized information helps people apply the MBTI learning to specific business situations, including sales, leadership development, customer service and conflict resolution.

THE PROCESS

Because the MBTI is classified as a level B psychometric instrument, special training is mandatory to purchase and administer the assessment.   Coaching With Clarity Coaches are qualified by the Publisher, CPP, to make the MBTI available to our clients.
The MBTI can be delivered via an online and/or paper format.  For best results, we do require at least a minimum of one and half hours of either face-to-face or telephone time with each individual, prior to releasing reports.  This can be done in a group setting or individually, depending upon your circumstances.  We encourage you to contact us to discuss your unique requirements.

MBTI IN THE WORKPLACE

Once an employee begins to explore and understand their own behavioral preferences, they become better equipped to understand the behaviors and actions of those around them (their co-workers, managers and senior leaders). The MBTI tool helps to establish a safe and “common language” among employees, management and teams, to further promote true understanding.

 MBTI helps Individuals to:
  • Become more self-aware
  • Personal development
  •  Personal Mastery
  • Appreciate other types of behavior and communication preferences
  • Speak to another in “their” language
  • Improve relationships

MBTI helps Companies to:
